We Want A Misogynist Free B-Town

Infidelity is the buzz word for many coming from the B-town biz. B-town has examples galore when it comes to definition of this term. Many journalists will go on explaining who dated who and the leading consequences. How a starlet bitched about other starlet and went to the extent of stealing her man. It’s very strange when it comes from the savvy and sane brains. It gets stranger when such gossip columns are penned by a woman. It is almost like backstabbing your race. But like they say ganda hai par dhandha hai.

Moving on, these curious cases of infidelity often highlight a woman in the garb of a vamp. But never does anybody point fingers at men. We all are aware that bias has deeply penetrated in media and B-town.  However, why should just one gender take all the blame?

Katrina Kaif, Rani Mukherjee, Shilpa Shetty, Priyanka Chopra and many more divas including the legends like Hema Malini and Rekha were called names by the fraternity and were hailed as the home breakers. But there was hardly any attention given to the men these women fell for. Media reported Priyanka getting slapped and how Rekha flaunted Bachchan in front of her late husband but why men were not asked to comment upon these reports remains an eternal question.

B-town is said to be ruled by the Kings and the Biggies but never has it got its royal princess or a queen. With Sonam Kapoor wearing the crown, it looks like the equations are changing but still the thought of having a reigning queen seems staggering.

We speak of B-town objectifying women but no one speaks up against the insipid PETA ads where the actors are asked to strip naked. An innocent struggler, Shweta Basu Prasad, who earned the early fame in her life, when gets strangled in the sex scandals it is she to be blamed alone. No reports have come yet which lists the A-class businessmen who love hiring B-town escorts.

Although the tinsel town makes efforts to hide filth but rumors, which are often reality, do the rounds of the world. It is when the divas get caught in the scams or cases are filed against them for posing nude for a magazine cover such rumors are brought to light. However, why is it so that there is never objection taken to the sole objectification of women? Why aren’t men blamed for arousing the lady’s interest which eventually leads to the so called “illicit affairs.”

Once upon a time there existed casting couch and now there happens to be an array of affairs, more like a refined version of casting couch.

We have to be clairvoyant to declare that these prejudices will come to an end in near future. But near or not we’d love to see these biases end.
