With the plethora of ads gracing the small screen, we all have forgotten the taste of the vintage commercials. The 90s was the era when everything changed in every field. Soon when the television became a household stuff, the stuffs that it screened on its panel became a rage. We all wanted to take a sip from the soft drink bottle much like our favorite celebrity or we wanted to chew on the gooey chocolate and dance on the cricket pitch and if that wasn’t enough we even sang the Ketchup song…
No Not this…
Err…sorry…We didn’t really find the Shammi Kapoor styled tomato ketchup ad. But we came across some amazing vintage ads that we would like to share with you.
Gabbar Singh selling Glucose biscuits
Arey Oh Samba kitne biscuits the iss packet mein… we know you read it in his voice!
Mithun Chakraborty posing for a VCR ad.
Aa gaya, Aa gaya halwe wala aa gaya… now buy a VCD and watch your favorite Mithun film.
Salman Khan alongside his ex-confidante is seen selling suitings.
Now for the man who often goes shirtless selling a clothing brand is bit too much, we say.
No one knew that Helen was asked to endorse the Lux ad. She was amongst the many Lux’s lovely ladies.
Even we didn’t know until now that Helen endorsed for Lux!
Rekha ki khoobsurati ka raaz was Lakme, they said.
Well, this ad is cluttered with too much of wordplay.
Salman even endorsed the bikes.
Perhaps this is a rage post the Bajaj phase.
Rati Agnihotri could endorse a cola, well that’s a news for us too.
And we never knew this soft drink existed.
Sharmila Tagore selling Murphy…the radio we mean.
If you happen to be a movie buff like us this will surely remind you of #Barfi!
Jaya Bachchan poses for a saree brand.
Despite the brand being no more (or is it still alive but turned a recluse?) we can always imagine Jaya Bachchan posing with exquisite designer sarees draped around her.
The rogue Jackie turned suave by endorsing hot chocolate.
Now that’s something we can relate with our generation.
Ashok Kumar endorsing Prudent.
Sir, we only know about Pepsodent….
