Yipieee! It’s the holiday season. We love this season and we believe you do too. It’s the one season that brings too many joys together. The dip in the weather is equivalent to the blush on the cheeks and the rouge that appears when sun kisses the foggy horizon. It is one pleasant feeling to know that the year of hardships is coming to a close and we shall have a fresh start. The Christmas jingles and the colours all around add to the beauty of the weather and escalate our delight. It is merry all around and it is a season for merry making. What we love the most about this season is the film festivals that different movie channels host. There are array of films and best of films that add to the festivities. Oh! We so love this season of colours and lights!
Here are few of our favorite films from Hollywood for the Holiday season.
To make you nostalgic these classics should be enough.
A timeless classic and a family entertainer, our Holidays can never be complete without the outrageousness of little Kevin!
Home Alone 2: Lost In New York
And the absurdity continues when Kevin gets lost in New York. While we love the first part more but Lost In New York retains the charm…er…somewhat.
How the Grinch Stole Christmas
If you belong to the 90s generation you shall know that this film was a repeat on Cartoon Network and this has had a lasting Holiday impression on our memories. Jim Carrey as Grinch, we love, we love!
Santa Claus (1985)
Over and over, we love watching this film! How did Santa become Santa, does Santa really have a gift making factory? Where dos Santa live? What does he eat, sleep or think? Watch the mystery unfold as the legend comes alive!
A magical adventure that brings to life a nutcracker when Mary expresses her love and affection for the talking nutcracker gifted to her by her Uncle. Together the two hop on the adventure trail to win back the usurped kingdom of N.C.
These films will make you fall in love!
No Holiday season is ever complete without Home Alone and Love Actually. If you don’t include this in your mini film fest, then the fest isn’t worth the trouble!
When Harry Met Sally
The second up syrupy romance, starring Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal. A perfect holiday film with perfect quotable quotes. Don’t believe us? Try this, “It’s not because I’m lonely, and it’s not because it’s New Year’s Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.”
What better than watching Ryan Reynold this season? He is a man closer to perfection that makes this film a perfect movie for the Holidays, don’t you think? 😉
Sleepless In Seattle
Fantasies about a man you have never even met? Well, that certainly sounds closer to reality and with this film Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks make our dream come alive. A beautiful love tale, you ought not to miss.
Destiny that’s one word that can make you go around the world and back. And when love meets destiny it is often and always the most beautiful thing that could ever happen to you. However, when you test love and ask destiny to intervene, it is a different case altogether. Didn’t get us? Watch the film.
No Strings Attached
Passion is just not about getting physica. Try as you may, you can never ever entrap your feelings. Feelings are gonna sway andf so are you, ‘coz passion is another name for love.
You’ve Got Mail
Your pen friend is probably the love of your life. But you don’t know that he is that rival from your office you fight tooth and nails with! What now? To love or not to love that is the question.
And these should make you laugh!
Bridget Jones’ Diary
We often make the resolutions that we never keep but let’s just assume Bridget Jones is different species!
Mr. Bean’s Holiday
Ahaa! The adventure of Mr. Bean is something that is a must for this season. And when it happens to be in the land of saccharine love, vous devez regarder….ahem, we mean you ought to watch it!
Adam Sandler could recite such good bedtime stories, we didn’t really know. But what’s more exciting is that these stories do come true the next day. Disney’s presentation is no less than a fairy tale and we’d like to live in one.
Swapping homes on Holiday isn’t really a bad idea. Perhaps it will do well to help mend the broken hearts or by simply undoing the damage! Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet starrer The Holiday will repair all the dents and leave you smiling
Ps: While could have added the melodrama to the list but we don’t really want our readers to cry their lungs out when it’s time to celebrate!
So hop on the festive wagon and run your own film festival this holiday season with these films. You’ve got any more suggestions? Feel free and suggest us the films you’d really love to watch this Holiday 😉
