2015 Is Going To Be Yet Another Deepika Padukone Year!

2013 was the year with experimental fashion. It was a year where retro came alive and contemporary upped a notch. Fashion became a rage. And the trendsetter was the lady who reigned Box Office that year. From wayfarers to jumpsuits, she made us drool over fashion. Race 2, Bombay Talkies, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express, Goliyon Ki Raasleela-Ram Leela, the list said enough!

Deepika Padukone emerged as the fashion goddess and has been worshipped ever since for being that. Gone were the days when she was termed as jinxed, now, she was one of the most sought after actress of B-Town. Although 2014 wasn’t as glossy for Dips as 2013 yet there were three hits in her kitty- Kochadaiiyaan, Finding Fanny and Happy New Year. As for this year, it simply is going to be a replica of 2013, we presume, for Deepika has landed the chunkiest films of the year.

Take a look…

Piku

From the director of brawny films like Vicky Donor and Madras Café comes a quirky comedy-drama, Piku. The film stars Deepika in the titular character and she is paired opposite Irrfan Khan. The story of the film revolves around a unique father-daughter relationship. While Amitabh Bachchan, who has been sporting a paunch off late for this film is father of Piku, this is the second time we’d see the two sharing screen space as father and daughter. If the grape vine is to be believed, Deepika learnt Bengali for this film which rolls out in April this year.

Tamasha

Second up on Deepika’s list this year is Tamasha. The film stars Deepika opposite her ex-beau Ranbir Kapoor. While Ranbir-Deepika Jodi is a hit with the audience, Imtiaz Ali has become a rage after his hits like Jab We Met, Rockstar and Highway! The film is shot in picturesque locations in France and has music composed by A.R.Rahman. Apparently, the film’s story revolves around two travelers and how their destinies get intertwined. These are reasons enough to watch the flick. However, this excitement would have definitely died down had Imtiaz opted for Katrina or Anushka in stead of Deepika!

Bajirao Mastani

Bajirao Mastani Song

This one is the most awaited film since 2003! Post the success of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, SLB announced the film Bajirao Mastani which would star Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai. However, the subsequent breakup of the ex-flames led to the film being shelved. But SLB got his Bajirao and Mastani while filming Ram Leela. The film which is now slated to release in December better be a magnum opus coming from the auteur after 12 years of brain racking and multiple cast changes!

We all know about Deepika’s love for sports, especially Badminton. Perhaps that is why she had to be the first choice to play the lead in Saina Nehwal’s biopic which is yet unnamed and unconfirmed. While the story and the idea materializes we only muse over the star who could play coach to the ace Badminton player!

Shuddhi

While it is yet unclear who will star opposite Salman Khan in KJo’s Shuddhi, we haven’t really got clear reports about Deepika opting out of the venture. The film which is to be directed by Agneepath director Karan Malhotra will helm this project post the shooting for Warrior wraps up. Although it is yet unclear who will star opposite Salman Khan in this film, Director definitely wants a popular starlet and considering Deepika “dream” to work with Salman, this project might land in her kitty!
