#ObamaInIndia is a hashtag trending for past two days. Ever since Obama’s arrival in India, the hullabaloo wouldn’t cease. We are not sure of the plight of media personnels in Delhi but social media has been in a celebratory mood ever since. Every time this chap comes down to India he leaves series of questions and quotes behind. Yesterday he graced the Republic Day parade by being seated on the dais alongside the eminent Indian politicians. And today he has touched base with Bollywood by citing SRK’s famous dialogue.
It is only a coincidence that the film which recently completed 1000th week, DDLJ, was the one to be mentioned in Prez of America’s speech. Does that mean that even Obama is a DDLJ fan? Or should we say, SRK fan? Whatever the case, this attempt by Obama sure drew him not just applause from the audience but also fans in India.
To quote the President, he said, “Last celebration here we celebrated festival of lights in Mumbai. We danced with some children. Unfortunately, we were not able to schedule any dancing in this visit. Senorita, bade bade desho mein… you know what I mean.” Although this video may pose glitches yet it speaks what the Prez said.
Not only SRK but aces like Mary Kom, Milkha Singh and Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi found a mention in Obama’s speech.
