While we will witness few star kids giving their best in their debut Bollywood movies, there are some names never heard before and a couple of renowned television actresses marking their presence. So let us take a look at Bollywood debutants of 2018.
1] Banita Sandhu – October
Meet Varun Dhawan’s co-star for Shoojit Sircar’s ‘October’ Banita Sindhu an 18-year-old London based model who appeared in Double Mint ad commercial. She has got the cute element to romance and we already witnessed this from the TVC. Talking about the actress Shoojit Sircar said, “For October, that was one of the main reasons why I chose Banita for the lead role opposite Varun. She had acted in one of my earlier commercials; the ad not just turned out to be really good but we also found the character that we were looking for in her.”
2] Ankita Lokhande – Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi
Ankita Lokhande is a face most of us recognized from the daily soap. She will be soon marking her entry in Bollywood with a movie named ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’. The movie is based on Rani Laxmibai and features Kangana Ranaut in the lead. But her debut as a lead will be from the movie ‘Malang’ opposite Sanjay Dutt. The actress became popular in the television industry after her daily soap named ‘Pavitra Rishta’ that featured Sushant Singh Rajput opposite to her proved to be audience’s favorite.
3] Janhvi Kapoor – Dhadak
Daughter of veteran actor Sridevi and filmmaker Boney Kapoor, the pretty looking Janhvi Kapoor is making her Bollywood debut with ‘Dhadak’. The film is a Hindi remake of blockbuster Marathi movie ‘Sairat’ opposite another debutant Ishaan Khatter.
4] Ishaan Khatter – Dhadak
Shahid Kapoor’s younger brother Ishaan Khatter will first be seen in renowned filmmaker Majid Majidi’s international project ‘Beyond The Clouds’ opposite Malavika Mohanan. However, in Bollywood, Ishaan will be gracing the silver screen for the first time opposite Janhvi Kapoor in Shashank Khaitan’s ‘Dhadak’. Hitting the screens on July 6, Dhadak will see Ishaan in the role of Madhur as seen in the Marathi blockbuster Sairat. The project is being bankrolled by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
5] Mouni Roy – Gold
Mouni Roy who ruled television screens through ‘Naagin’ is set to make an astonishing entry in Bollywood, as she gets to debut with the Khiladi Akshay Kumar. The movie is titled ‘Gold’ directed by Reema Kagti. She will be seen in a completely different avatar to suit the era. She shot for 20-25 days in August and is one of the few female stars in the otherwise male-dominated narrative.
6] Karan Deol – Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas
Karan Deol son of veteran actor Sunny Deol will mark his Bollywood debut in the movie titled ‘Pal Pal Dil Ke Pass’ and his father took to Twitter to reveal the same. The romantic movie is set to be shot in cold winter back-drop of Himachal Pradesh takes the title from the glamorous hit of Karan’s grandfather Dharmendra in the 1970s. Sunny Deol partnered with a big studio and formed his own production house named Sunny Sounds Pvt Ltd.
7] Saher Bamba – Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas
A fresh face opposite Sunny Deol’s son Karan Deol is this pretty young girl from Himachal Pradesh. She has cute looking personality and would be featuring as Karan Deol’s onscreen love interest. The 18-year-old has already bagged Oppo Bombay Times fresh face award in 2016 and was felicitated the award by none other than dazzling Dabangg actress Sonakshi Sinha.
8] Sara Ali Khan – Kedarnath
Sara Ali Khan who was earlier rumoured to be the part of ‘Student Of The Year 2’ but now Janhvi Kapoor has been roped in for the project. However, she has nothing to worry about as she will debut as a lead in her upcoming Bollywood movie helmed by Abhishek Kapoor titled ‘Kedarnath’. The movie is a love story and she will feature alongside M.S Dhoni actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The pretty looking Sara will play an on-screen tourist in this film which is based on the 2013 floods of Uttrakhand.
From Sunny Deol’s son Karan to Sridevi’s daughter Jahnvi, these eight faces will mark their Bollywood debut in 2018. So which debutant are you looking forward to?
