This Rendition Of National Anthem By Amitabh Bachchan Will Give You Gooseflesh

There’s a rich history behind our National Anthem and the heated debate between the extremist and moderates. Jana Gana Mana by Rabindranath Tagore glorifies our nation as he sings it in front of a King George V. Some look at it as a homage to the emperor and while many do not wish to claim it as our National Anthem, there are those who have foregone the history and accepted Jana Gana Mana with open arms. Although we cannot change the views and opinions of the extremists yet this rendition by Amitabh Bachchan brings alive the patriotic in us irrespective of our attitude towards the anthem.

Bachchan’s voice pierces through the microphones and strikes our heart. Honoured with Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian award, this rendition proves true to the honour conferred upon the megastar.

This video has been shot at Jorasanko Thakurbari, the ancestral home of Rabindranath Tagore and the actor is seen walking barefoot across the premises. Speaking about the song, Bachchan said, “As Rabindranath Tagore wrote the song, we thought why not shoot it where Gurudev was born. Shoojit Sircar has shot the song. I am proud to have sung this one.”

We bet that this video, especially Big B’s singing will give you gooseflesh.
